Welcome to TESOL at MIS

Students who have been identified as English Language Learners (ELL) and whose first language is a language other than English can get academic English language assistance services from Masters International School's TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) program. In the ESOL classroom and through cooperation with content teachers, TESOL support is primarily given. Our program's objective is to assist ELL students in achieving academic English competence so they may work on their own at the grade level.

All students who are not native English speakers must take the English Proficiency Exam. Speaking, listening, reading, and writing abilities will all be evaluated for the students. Students must receive a minimum score in order to be considered for admission. Assessments for new and returning students will be used to identify the appropriate levels of support for students who need English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) assistance. MIS offers our TESOL program as an extra service at no extra charge. Depending on the resources we have available, we reserve the right to offer this service annually.
